I have divided the beauty pass render into four sections, each
containing a different lighting. I quite like the first and the fourth
from the left. I think they look more 'realistic' However, the two in
the middle are nice to look at but it is a bit to bright for my liking.
As this tree is based on the structure of a peacock, I wanted the bark to be blue like the plumage of the bird.
Here are renders that I got on giving the bark a bit of blue.
Okay, so this is the better version of the gold filigree. I put in a gold texture image rather than playing around with the settings of the colour on the blinn.
I'm pretty happy with these renders. It's just that the gold filigree appears to be a bit grainy in a few places. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it? Otherwise, I like the way the light is bouncing off of it.
I'm in the final stages of modelling. The Cypress tree gave me a bit of trouble but I got it to look the way I wanted it to in the end. I need to UV Map the Pagoda and the Fountain and then I shall be ready to move on to texturing.
Hennie asked me to create an intro for the travel show that she is conceptualizing for her minor project. I put together a few scenes in two different styles. These will serves as backdrops for the animation that will become the 25 second intro.
